Our Disciplines
Our award-winning structural engineering skills have seen us involved in structural engineering projects across the education and health-related sectors, commercial, industrial, residential, retail, corporate and leisure sectors.
Our involvement assists every stage from conceptual and feasibility to design detail and construction management.
The power of our structural modelling packages, together with our building information modelling (BIM) expertise, enables us deal with challenges such as; difficult site conditions with complex foundations, interface with existing and neighbouring structures, and services co-ordination, thus ensuring structural and construction economies are achieved at all times.
Our team of experienced engineers have a wealth of practical expertise in the inspection and appraisal of existing structures and potential development sites. This includes both historic and Listed buildings and more modern buildings in need of a “new lease of life” but also includes geotechnical and geoenvironmental assessments of potential development locations. Our engagement on schemes is tailored to suit client and project requirements, varying from simple reporting, to coordination of full investigations, production of tender information for remedial schemes and subsequent construction management.
WML offer an integrated in-house Geotechnical and Geo-environmental advisory service to complement our Civil and Structural engineering consultancy
In addition to providing a stand-alone service on all ground related issues, WML's Geotechnical and Geo-environmental team work alongside our experienced Structural and Civil Engineers to offer bespoke one-stop engineering and environmental solutions to site development projects.
By applying this integral approach, we provide cost-effective, sustainable and value engineered solutions.
As an integral part of our Geo-environmental Service, WML Consulting provides a comprehensive Remediation Service to clients where sites are affected by ground contamination.
For such sites, WML undertake site specific Remediation Options Appraisals and detailed design to satisfy the Remediation Objectives. This is translated into a Remediation Strategy for the site and presented to the local authority for written approval.
Remediation Implementation Plans are prepared to include finalised design proposals and Specifications for tender. Site attendance services are provided to inspect and witness the Remediation Works to confirm that Remediation Objectives have been met.
Verification Documents are collated to prepare a Verification and Completion Report for local authority written approval.
Our ethos is based on sustainability principals and, where possible we will design the Remediation works so as to maximise the re-use of materials on site and thus reduce the cost of waste disposal. To this end, detailed Material Management Plans are produced in line with the Code of Practice for the Definition of Waste, together with Qualified Person services to prepare a Declaration for re-use.
Drainage design is offered as part of a complete site development package, incorporating all other civil and structural elements, or as a standalone appointment.
WML Consulting incorporates in house speciality in the development and design of drainage solutions for both the public and private sectors covering adopted and none adopted systems. Our comprehensive service is designed to take your scheme from inception to completion.
The quality of the public realm within our towns and villages can make a positive contribution to the lives of people who live and work in them. High quality public space engenders a sense of pride in a place, discourages crime, promotes biodiversity and healthy living, and increases land values. Good design need not cost more – a creative approach and careful planning at the outset can create good places that are easy to maintain.
WML frequently work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams often delivering complex and challenging urban design and public realm projects. Our dedicated team of consultants collaborate with stakeholders to implement civil and structural infrastructure that is efficient, safe and sustainable. WML can also provide site monitoring should this be required
