Specialist ballistic forensic unit for West Midlands Police and the Home Office.
Constructed on a brownfield site, the structural design was integral in providing a secure facility which encompassed a test firing range, forensic laboratories, secure armoury and associated offices.
A robust reinforced masonry solution with solid precast concrete floors and roofs was provided which not only satisfied the required level of security but also satisfied the planning requirements for acoustic insulation imposed due to the close proximity to existing housing.
