State of the Art Primary School

The new state of the art Ramsgate Primary school is opening.


The project was a modular new build, constructed off site by McAvoys, designed by Blue Sky Architects. 


The 2078m2 building is constructed from 46 steel-framed modules which were manufactured and fitted out offsite to reduce the build programme. The units were craned into position in two phases complete with doors, windows, partitions and first fix mechanical and electrical services.

Double build in Nantwich - Reaseheath College

Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy is a three storey secondary school due for completion in 2016 (phase 1) and is the largest offsite building WML Consulting have been involved in.

The school is arranged as a super-block with circa 5500msq of modular accommodation wrapped around central atrium spaces.  Sports and Performance hall spaces were formed using traditional steel frames.

Meridian Angel Primary School incorporates a double height assembly hall surrounded by two-storey teaching accommodation - with no traditional build elements.


New Cafe for Ashton-under-Lyne 6th Form

Working with GA Studio Architects and Aspect Construction this will be the 7th phase of works WML Consulting have successfully delivered for the College over the past 10 years as part of their Masterplan redevelopment (details of previous phases can be found here). The next phases are currently under development to enhance the sports and arts teaching facilities, awaiting the result of funding applications.

The new café will complement the recently completed 6th form centre to provide high quality spaces for staff and students to relax and meet to enhance the learning and teaching experience at the College.




6 New Free Schools with bluesky Architects

bluesky Awarded Fourways

Bluesky has been awarded the contract for Fourways Junior School, the design of a the new academy in Poole Dorset. WML are pleased to be working on this joint venture between bluesky and McAvoy. The competition was run directly by Poole Council and the contract was awarded to bluesky/McAvoys having achieved the highest score for quality.

Loreto College achieves BREEAM Excellent

New £15m development to provide teaching facilities including a learning resource centre on the existing site together with refurbishment of the adjacent Ball Building. 

This project was partly funded by the Learning Skills Council and as such, to meet the conditions of the funding criteria, the building has to achieve a minimum of BREEAM Very Good. On completion, the project actually achieved BREEAM Excellent
